Christmas on The Elm!!!

The ELM 1620 am will run traditional Christmas programming starting Friday, November 29th through New Year's Day!!!!

Confirmed! WNRP - 1620 AM from Pensacola, FL

Yesterday morning I was able to confirm the station on 1620 am was indeed WNRP News Radio out of Pensacola, FL. 

So it's a 10,000 watt station during the day and turns down to 1000 watt at night. I originally misread this thinking there was no way it could get up here.

This is the first time I've heard this station while monitoring 1620 am since September. Hopefully it's a seasonal or conditions thing.

UPDATE: Last week, WNRP was no longer heard and The Elm was coming in at the high school. Good news.

Possible Pensacola, FL Station?

I heard a station override The Elm this morning in Dormont around 8 am. They stated "92.3 and 1620." The only station I found was WNRP from Pensacola, FL. Not sure it's right but I heard a traffic report and then a traffic report on their online feed. I was driving so it was hard to 100% it. I will revisit this and figure it out another day. 

I just don't believe that Florida station could get that far out. It's a mystery for now.

1590 AM - WHPY - Validated from Last Night.

I tuned back in to 1590 at 7:50pm and the same Christian programming station was on the air.

I validated the broadcast online as WHPY out of Clayton, NC. 

I tried to pull the station in an hour earlier and heard nothing.

At 7:54pm, WHPY is coming in clear at times and then fades out. 

I can hear a baseball game bleeding through. Heard "squares a bunt." I believe I heard a ball game last night also.

7:06pm - 680 - WISR - Butler, PA - "Chills and Fever" - Tom Jones - Poor signal.

7:11pm - 910 - WXJX - Apollo, PA - "Westmoreland Gold" - "Centerfold" - J Geils Band, "I'll Take You There" - The Staple Singers

7:20pm - 1080 - WWNL - Pittsburgh, PA - Religious Program - Verse 49

7:27pm - 1280 - WUZZ - New Castle, PA - "Stayin' Alive" - Bee Gees, "Baby, I Love You Way - Big Mountain - Poor signal but able to make out the songs.

7:41pm - 1300 - WFJM - Morgantown, WV - Call Letters - Christian Music - "I Know" - Big Daddy Weave

7:51pm - 1400 - WBBD - Wheeling, WV - Fox Sports Radio - Pirates Pregame and Joe Block - Signal is poor.

8:28pm - 1590 - Religious station. Playing music then talk then more music. At times very clear. I listened for about a 1/2 hour and could not identify. Closest religious station I could find was Hagerstown, MD who had no webcast. It's a mystery. Station faded out permanently at 8:30pm.
